Dear Filmmakers/Film Fans,
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of the Lancaster Area Film Festival. This decision was not made lightly but in the end it had to be done.
We want to thank the filmmakers for sharing the product of their blood, sweat and tears with us. It’s not easy to send out your work to be judged, but we thank you for your courage. Your work has enriched us and strengthened our resolve to continue making our own films. We encourage you to keep making art.
To those that attended the festival, thank you for your support. We recognized that you were looking for something other than the standard fare from Hollywood and also wanted to see the talent that was in your backyard and around the world. We were happy to share those films with you.
Lastly, to Penn Ketchum, thank you very much for providing us with a top-flight venue to screen the films. We couldn’t have asked for a better partner or a better theater. LAFF couldn’t have done what it did without you.
We enjoyed every moment of the festival during its four-year run and for the friendships and partnerships we forged. We are all better people for it.
